As the first digital serif typeface, Georgia holds an influential place in the realm of typography. To celebrate Georgia's distinctive qualities, history and cultural impact, I created a 32-page, A4 type specimen book. My type specimen book aims to educate the reader and 'sell' the Georgia typeface. I created the page spread layouts using Adobe InDesign and had several copies printed and bound.
I had the physical copies of the book printed on 350gsm matte laminated paper (cover) and 150gsm matte paper (inside pages) and bound with saddle-stitch binding. I chose matte paper for its soft and elegant finish, which complements the book's colour palette and the friendly yet professional nature of the Georgia typeface. The matte laminated cover is also resistant to damage and general wear. The saddle-stitch binding allows the book to be laid flat without damaging the cover; this was essential for my book design as much of my content extends across both sides of the page spread.
